In an article headlined " States seek currencies made of silver and gold ," CNN Money updates legislative efforts to establish alternative currencies in what now totals 13 states. It cites Rep. Ron Paul's sponsorship of the " Free Competition in Currency Act ," which would allow states to issue their own currencies, and quotes a project director at the American Principles Project , a leading advocate of the measures, as saying that "I think we could get a couple passed in this legislative.
